About Mensa
What is Mensa? It's an international "high-IQ" society with over 100,000 members. There is only one qualification for membership in Mensa: a score in the top two percent of the general population on a supervised standardized intelligence test. Mensans range in age from pre-schooler to centenarian, and roughly half are Baby Boomers. We're a non-profit organization, and all our officers are volunteers.

Becoming a Member
See "How to Join American Mensa" at the American Mensa website (www.us.mensa.org) for a printable application form and list of acceptable test scores, as well as information about taking Mensa's own admission test. (American Mensa does not accept unsupervised testing as proof of eligibility, specifically unsupervised testing administered electronically or via Internet-based tests.) We give the Mensa Admission Test in the Nashville area several times per year. The next testing session will be at the Holiday Inn - Crossings, 201 Crossings Place in Antioch, Oct 18th at 1:30pm. The testing fee is $40, and payment can be made with cash, check or credit card. To find out more, e-mail our Test Administrator. If you meet the standards for admission, you'll receive an offer of membership. Shortly after you accept the offer and pay your first year's dues, an officer of the local group will contact you with details about Mensa activities in your area. Annual dues for American Mensa membership are currently $52. Life, multi-year and family membership plans are also available.
